Wow! Do I need to practice for eight hours?
No! You and your team can support the programme with the time you have available, the classes will run continuously and be back to back. We are aiming to have taught a completed 1008 variations on the sun salutation theme by the end of the day. Teachers will change on the hour every hour between 10 – 6 p.m so you can join us for as little or as much as you want to!

Tell me more about the Yogathon and the Yoga Volunteer Programme?
This Sunday 7th February, join us in our first ever Yogathon. In association with The Sanctuary, we are going to rock out for eight hours with different teachers and a team of supporters to raise funds for our new Kula Volunteer Program.
Enthusiasts of Yoga and their friends come together to help us support an ongoing project of bringing volunteers to people who require help right here in our back yard.
As our community has grown, so many of you have been eager to find a way to effect this and our Kula Volunteer programme is going to make this easy, possible and a reality.
It is founded on an age old Yogic principle known as Seva which means selfless service. Our aim is to do exactly this, provide time and our hands-on effort to a variety of people, organisations and individuals who require support, mentoring and compassionate care.
Starting in March, we will have fourteen volunteers who will be part of the Yoga Kula Krew and who will start a training program for guiding a one hour yoga class to support young people in at-risk situations.
Our initial goals are to establish a charitable organisation to support these efforts. We will be raising funds to buy yoga mats and fully train and support these volunteers as well as implement a weekly programme in at least two different locations.

How do I register to take part in the First Ever Yogathon?

- Choose a fundraising goal for yourself and your team
- Ask friends to donate time, join your team or become a team leader themselves.
Every team member will sign up with a BDS $50 registration fee and pledge to raise funds – there is no minimum or maximum amount however, whatever you raise will go towards the implementation of this programme and its immediate activation.
-
